Ketchup Voted Better Than Brown Sauce In A Bacon Sandwich

Ketchup Voted Better Than Brown Sauce In A Bacon Sandwich

The people have spoken on International Bacon Day

As you probably know, every day on our calendar is dedicated to celebrating something, be it World Furniture Day, Global Fish Ponds And Tanks Day or 191 Days Until Christmas Day.

Today, as it happens, is International Bacon Day, so what better time to settle the age-old question of which sauce is better on a bacon sandwich, ketchup or brown sauce?

We polled our followers to get the verdict and ketchup came out on top, winning the day with 58.6 percent of the 15,469 votes cast.

With such a divisive issue decided by such fine margins, it's unsurprising that people were vehemently split on the subject:

I personally like a bit of both on mine - f*ck condiment segregation and f*ck you if you can't handle that.

If though, you're someone who likes mayonnaise, Marmite or something equally daft on your bacon sandwich and you're feeling aggrieved your favourite wasn't included in the poll, then I'm very sorry about that. It would have been a waste of time though as blatantly this is a two-horse race.

As for what you call the sandwich part of a bacon sandwich, that's a debate for another day - International Sandwich Day on 3 November, to be precise.

Though we might as well call that poll off now as clearly the correct answer is butty. As in, 'Can I have a bacon butty with ketchup and brown sauce please?'.

Anyway, whatever you call it and however you like it - be it crispy with ketchup, burnt with brown, or swapped out for facon - happy International Bacon Day one and all.
