A woman who lives in the real-life home that featured in The Conjuring says she regularly encounters spooky goings on and has even seen ghosts.

Madison Heinzen has picked up thousands of followers on TikTok, where she shares stories about her 'haunted' home in Harrisville, Rhode Island.

Heinzen and her family have lived in the house since 2019 and she claims that during that time they've seen all manner of paranormal activity.

In one clip she describes an incident in which she saw a ghost wearing a 'veil and a skirt'.

She said: "This happened last year when I was in the kitchen. I was eating dinner by myself and I saw someone run by me.

"I caught it by the left corner of my eye, and all I saw was a veil and a skirt and it just vanished into thin air.

"This had all happened in a span of three seconds, and I just sat there in complete disbelief not knowing what to do afterwards."

Heinzen went on to say that when she told her paranormal investigator parents about what she'd seen, they told her other people had also described seeing the same spectre, dubbed the 'woman in a wedding dress'.

Her dad Cory told The Sun Journal that the family had saw doors opening, and heard footsteps and knocks since moving in. He admitted that he had 'a hard time staying there' on his own.

Cory added: "I don't have the feeling of anything evil, [but] it's very busy. You can tell there's a lot of things going on."

The spooky house, which dates back to 1736, featured in the 2013 horror flick The Conjuring, which centred on the events that happened to previous owners the Perrons in the 1970s.

Carolyn and Roger Perron, alongside their five daughters, reported all sorts of unexplained phenomena in the house, including the stench of rotting flesh and their beds being violently shaken.

The house recently featured in an episode of the Travel Channel's Ghost Adventures, where paranormal investigator Zak Bagans says he was left feeling 'sick' after checking it out.

Speaking to People at the time the show was broadcast, the 42-year-old ghost hunter said: "This house made me sick, and I did not recover from this investigation for about three weeks. It took everything out of me. My body wasn't functioning right. My balance. This place is haunted by something I believe is very ancient."
