Parents Finally Welcome Baby Girl After Having Fourteen Boys In A Row

A couple have finally welcomed a baby girl into their family after having 14 boys.

Kateri Schwandt, 45, gave birth to a baby girl on Thursday (5 November). Both Kateri and Maggie Jayne are doing well and the family say they are 'blessed'.

Father Jay Schwandt and his wife met when they were youngsters and got married in 1993. They already had three sons before graduating from college, according to the MailOnline.

Speaking to the Detroit Free Press following his daughter's birth, Jay said: "We are overjoyed and beyond excited to add Maggie Jayne to our family. This year has been memorable in so many ways, for so many reasons, but Maggie is the greatest gift we could ever imagine."

The couple's oldest son, Tyler Schwandt, 28, added: "My parents were finally blessed with the little girl they never thought they'd end up having. I don't even know if my mom owns any pink clothing or anything."

As well as Tyler, the pair's other children include: Zach, Drew, Brandon, Tommy, Vinny, Calvan, Gabe, Wesley, Charlie, Luke, Tucker, Francisco, and Finley.

After leaving college, Kateri and Jay both went on to get advanced degrees. Kateri holds a master's degree in social work and Jay, who is a lawyer and owner of a land surveying business, has a law degree. Children stop you from doing what exactly?

Earlier this year when Kateri announced she was expecting again she said that 'there's enough testosterone' in the house to 'fill a stadium'.

She added to that by saying that if the family had a little girl she would be 'the most spoiled and protected child her entire life, especially during her teenage years.'

The couple already made headlines when Tucker (baby boy number 12) was born. Then in 2014, just before Francisco was born, they were asked, "Oh boy! Couple with 12 sons expecting baby 13; will they finally get a girl?"

Kateri responded saying: "If we have a girl, I think we would go into shock."

The Schwandt family currently starred in a programme called '14 Outdoorsmen'... which might need a change of title.
