Wonky Faced Dog Finds A New Home For Christmas

This adorable puppy was abandoned by his previous owners and left to die. Now he's found a new, loving home.

Is the cold, grey weather getting you down? The swarms of people rushing to buy Christmas presents at the weekend bringing out your inner humbug?

This should warm the cockles of your heart. A dog with a wonky face won't be spending Christmas alone, because he has been adopted just in time.

Now eight months old, Woody was attacked by another dog when he was just five weeks old, but his former owners refused to take him to the vet. Instead of getting medical treatment, he was left to heal on his own, which has resulted in his odd - and also oddly endearing - appearance.

To make matters even worse, the heartless bastards who previously owned him chained Woody up outside when they moved out of their house in Tennessee and left him to starve.

Some good Samaritan neighbours decided that wasn't on, however, and gave Woody food and water, checking to make sure he was alright. Well, as alright as he could be, anyway, when you're chained outside and have been abandoned.

Eventually, he was rescued properly by the director of Special Need Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation (SNARR), Courtney Bellew, and one of Courtney's friends has since adopted the up, giving him a family

"We take in lots of animals with lots of different problems," said Courtney, "but I have never seen anything like this. This was a first.

"He's so cute and endearing, a real sweet goofy-looking boy. I just fell in love with him straight away."

Quite why anybody would treat an animal so badly is anyone's guess, but we all know people can be cruel.

"He looks a little different," said Courtney, "which doesn't bother us one bit. In fact, it's what made us fall in love with him even more."

And while he might look different, he's thankfully in tip-top health. And now has a place to call home where he'll be well-loved and looked after. See, not everything is shit, is it?
