A bloke says a woman he was chatting to was left less than impressed when he revealed the truth about the £50,000 Mercedes he drives. You can see the clip here:

Posting on TikTok Rhys Stewart - or @_rhysx as he's known on the platform - explained that he 'told this girl I drive a £50,000 Mercedes' while showing off the key and steering wheel complete with the car's logo.

However, the clip then cuts to a slow reveal of the vehicle, which is actually a Tesco delivery van.

Rhys added: "Don't [think] she was too impressed."

Well, he didn't technically lie, did he?

The clip has been viewed more than one million times and has left fellow TikTok users in stitches.

One person wrote: "No lies there! And you have a job, winner."

Another said: "This is epic! Well played, lad."

While someone else commented: "Smooth drive though, to be fair, and plenty of room on the passenger side."
A fourth person said: "Imagine going to pick her up for a date."

To which Rhys replied: "At least I'll have plenty of food." Fair point, well made.

While Rhys might not be the proud owner of a Merc just yet - over in Australia a mum hit headlines after gifting a top of the range Mercedes-Benz GL to her nine year old daughter seven-year-old son.

Yep, despite being quite a few years off the legal age limit to get behind the wheel, businesswoman and TV personality Roxy Jacenko splashed out on daughter Pixie and son Hunter because she is 'super proud' of them.

She told news.com.au: "I'm super proud of her and her brother. Pixie's idea to add fidgets and sensory toys to her bow business, which many people said wouldn't be popular, has been a huge success.

"The help both her brother and her give me on the buying (every night we work on new style selections and argue over it), the packing, the restocking, goes well beyond their years so the new car was a reward.

"We've made a pact, we must keep going, work harder. Next it's a Rolls Royce."
