Dad Dares Son To Dress Up As Hot Dog For School Photos

And his school were totally fine with it

If you had school photo days like most of us, you'll remember your parents making extra special effort to make sure you went in looking your best.

But one dad had a slightly different approach to his kid's school photo - one that happened to involve a meat based fancy dress costume.

Craig Arsenault told his nine year-old son Jake that it'd 'be legendary' if he wore the outfit that he'd planned for Halloween to his ID photo at Biddeford Intermediate School in Maine.

But to make sure that his son actually did it, he promised him $10 (£7) if he took the dare on. Of course, the kid's little sausage face is now internet famous.

You might think this is just a dad being a dad, expecting his mum to step in at any moment - but no - his mum was actually involved as well, which to me, makes it even better.

Craig shared the photo on Facebook, writing: "My wife and I dared our son to wear a hot dog costume for school pictures. The school let him do it, and I couldn't be happier."

According to USA Today, Craig's wife Kari made sure she wrote a note to her son's school. In it, she explained the dare, and asked for permission.

It read: "We are aware and OK with Jacob Arsenault's intention to wear his hot dog costume for school pictures, if possible."

But, even after Jacob kept up with his side of the bargain, his dad's absolutely had him off. Craig hasn't even coughed up the rest of the money that he owes his brave son, having only given him $7 (£5) of the $10 - which means he still owes him $3 (£2). With interest mounting by the day, Craig really should start to think about making good on his side of the dare.

Anyway, the now legendary kid also posed for another photo in his normal clothes, with the hot dog photo used on a spare copy of the school ID.

Craig had said that Jake loved the attention and that his one regret lies with the fact that he only used it on a half-day and didn't get to wear it for a full one.

He did say that not everyone has seen the funny side, saying that some people have voiced concern for Jake's safety after his ID card was on the internet, but Craig told the news outlet that those people are living in fear.

Seeing as he has a normal one and a funny one, it looks like Jacob will be absolutely fine.
