The ultimate Josh fight took place today and its worthy winner has been announced - 'Little Josh'.

In case you missed it, earlier today a mass 'Josh fight' took place at Air Park Green Area in Lincoln, Nebraska, after a man called Josh Swain made a joke last year and the whole thing got a bit out of hand.

Josh initially made a Facebook group inviting as many other Josh Swains as he could find before challenging them all to a fight.

He pretty much forgot about the whole thing until fairly recently when a screenshot of his chat resurfaced on social media.

Realising he was going to have to make good on his vow, Josh decided to go ahead with the fight but eventually opened it up to anyone named Josh.

Today, the battle commenced and hundreds of people turned up, including the youngster who would go on to be named the winner.

When asked how he felt, Little Josh, four, told one reporter: "I like fighting."

Well, clearly.

Organiser Josh, from Arizona, went viral after he set up the Facebook chat and told his fellow Josh Swains: "You're probably wondering why I've gathered you all here today."

Before explaining: "Precisely, 4/24/2021, 12:00pm, meet at these coordinates (40.82232286 -96.7982002) we fight, whoever wins gets to keep the name, everyone else has to change their name, you have a year to prepare, good luck."

Although he made the group as an attempt to ease from lockdown boredom, when he saw his battle cry had resurfaced online he knew he'd have to go through with it.

Speaking to 1011now, Josh said: "I immediately was frightened, and my friend was like 'you have to go.

"I guess I have to make it a thing."

Josh then had to change the coordinates after choosing those ones at random only to discover that it was slap bang in the middle of someone's farm.

As well as honouring his bizarre plan, Josh also decided to use his new-found viral fame for good and is asking anyone who goes to bring some non-perishables to give to a local food bank.

And he also launched the 'help pay legal fees for Josh Swains to change their name' fund, which is actually just a silly title for a fundraiser for the Children's Hospital & Medical Centre Foundation.

Congratulations Little Josh!
