When you think of political photoshoots, the image of a standard politician comes to mind: they're dressed in something formal, it's usually kind of boring and just something that has to get done.

But Sheffield's new Lord Mayor, Majid Majid, is here to give a bit of style to his role.

His official shot is him absolutely beaming with pride in a suave blue jacket - however his unofficial pictures are the ones that have captured the internet's attention.

One of him involves him standing outside flats, wearing a yellow cap backwards and a leather jacket, making his livery collar look even more boss than usual.

Then there's the picture of the Green Party politician crouching on top of a newel post in a white jacket and Dr Martens. Cancel your LinkedIn picture, ditch your Facebook profile picture and delete that Christmas card, Majid has officially dominated the competition with this.

When it was announced that he would be taking over Sheffield, he wrote on Twitter: "Holy shit, this is surreal! With love, courage and opportunity literally anything is possible!

"Words can't describe how truly overwhelmed and blessed I feel right now. Thanks to everyone for all their warm words."

As people were filing into the room, he had Darth Vader's Imperial March from Star Wars play over the speakers followed by the Superman theme tune. Literally, this guy is the best.

He was also the first Lord Mayor to swear during his inaugural speech when he thanked his mum for 'putting up with all my shit'.

Releasing a statement on social media, Majid said: "Me and my family came to Sheffield from Somalia to look for a better life and this city has truly welcomed me and many others with open arms.

"This is one way of giving back to this incredible city. It really is an honour and privilege to hold this role and I will most definitely be bringing a different approach to it with the hope of engaging with all the hard to reach communities as well as celebrating/championing all that is great about Sheffield."

He's acknowledged that while some of his photos might not be the standard, he said it represents who he is as a person. Good on you Majid - stick it to them boring folks.

Majid has become the youngest ever Lord Mayor for the South Yorkshire city, according to the Daily Mail.

Hopefully there will be many more photoshoots during his time as Lord Mayor.
