There's a brand new optical illusion doing the rounds on the internet-sphere this week, involving a girl, her legs, and some rather unfortunately placed stripes.

Twitter user Rose posted a seemingly innocent photo of herself wearing Vans and a pair of sport trousers, along with the caption: "Yea I just combined vertical and horizontal stripes."

All pretty normal so far, right? Well, apparently not, because one confused Twitter user called Erik Pryal replied in a rather confused state, claiming he initially thought the picture showed both of her legs

With the internet being the internet, it only took this one confused message to send a whole bunch of people into meltdown (a la the gold dress illusion), with many Tweeters freaking the F out about poor Rose and what they thought were her super skinny pins.

One user named Nadya stated: "This is more confusing than the white and gold/black and blue dress that went viral in 2015".

Slight overstatement perhaps - from afar, maybe you'd be forgiven for mistaking the stripe as Rose's thigh.

But as soon as you get a close up look, it's beyond obvious she's just wearing striped trousers - you can even see her second foot in the background, for crying out loud.

Having said that, the gold/blue dress illusion was pretty damn obvious too. Everyone knows that thing is gold and white, am I right? You'd have to be completely nuts to thing it's black and blue... *reopens can of worms*

Anyway, if you're reading this and want to mess with your buddy's hungover head today, why not get them to check the thumbnail of Rose's stripy selfie and see if they can figure it out? Because it's always fun to mess with your mates when they're suffering.
