Blimey.

A bloke got the shock of his life after he bought a tank for £30,000 on eBay and discovered £2 million worth of gold hidden away in the fuel tank.

Yeah, I'm not exactly sure who's buying or selling tanks online either. I thought it was all second-hand clothes and music memorabilia that no one wants.

Nick Mead, 55, was restoring the Russian T54/69 with his mate, Todd Chamberlain, 50, who just so happens to be a mechanic.

As he explored his new purchase, he decided to film himself. Basically, he was concerned that there may be weapons concealed inside the tank, and he could show the footage taken to any bomb disposal crews if worst came to worst.

This guy is an expert. He's already got 150 military vehicles under his belt as he runs something called Tanks-a-Lot, an experience that gives members of the public the chance to drive any of his tanks on his farm in Helmdon.

The pair had already come across machine gun ammunition while they were stripping down the tank. They decided to look inside the petrol tank but they didn't find any more machine gun ammunition. No. Instead, they found five solid gold bars worth approximately £2 million. I know which one I'd rather find.

The gold bars weighed around 12lbs each, which when you think about how much a piece of solid gold jewellery can cost, is a shitload of gold.

They reckon the gold was looted by Iraqi soldiers in Kuwait during the Gulf War. Nick said: "They must have cut a hole in the fuel tank and rammed it full of gold bars."

Speaking to the Sun, he explained: "We didn't know what to do. You can't exactly take five gold bullion bars down to Cash Converters without questions being asked, so we called the police."

Police came and took the gold bars away, but provided Nick with a receipt. He added: "Even if I don't get any of the gold back, I will still have my beautiful tank."

This is a LAD who really fucking loves his tanks. Fair play to him.
