An online prankster managed to get author Naomi Wolf to retweet a fake anti-vaccination quote with a picture of adult film star Johnny Sins, thinking it was a quote from a genuine doctor.

Wolf was tricked by The Intercept reporter and well-known online scallywag Ken Klippenstein, who sent Wolf - who has courted controversy over recent week because of her comments about the 'totalitarian state' brought about by lockdown - a picture of the porn actor with the quote: "If a vaccine is effective, then why do we need to pressure people to take it?"

Behind the quote was a picture of Johnny Sins - presumably from one of his roles - dressed in medical scrubs and wearing a stethoscope around his neck.

After he sent Wolf a message asking her if she'd share the image, she duly did without performing any research whatsoever, under the illusion the picture showed 'Dr John Sims'.

We know, of course, that it didn't.

Eventually, she realised what had happened and deleted the tweet, but not before a whole host of people had piled in to have a right good laugh at her expense.

One person commented: "Ken got Naomi Wolf - who is an anti-vaxxer and has been spreading misinformation left and right - to post a fake quote from a fake doctor along with a photo of the adult film star Johnny Sins.

"This is how top-notch her vetting of information is."

Another simply wrote: "This is some of Ken's best work. He got anti vaxxer Naomi Wolf to retweet 'Dr' Johnny Sins, who is in actuality well known porn star Johnny Sins."

A third said: "Absolutely hilarious own and also a thorough bodying of whatever credibility anti-vaxxer Naomi Wolf has been able to convince people she has."

Wolf, who is a former advisor to the Democratic Party under Bill Clinton, has attracted a fair bit of attention of late for her views on the Covid-19 vaccines.

Appearing on Fox News show Tucker Carlson Tonight back in February, she bemoaned the USA - which had just passed through the 500,000 deaths mark - as 'moving into a coup situation, a police state' because of the coronavirus restrictions.

Johnny Sins even retweeted some of the fun.

She said: "Lockdowns have never been done in society and really, we are turning into a totalitarian state before everyone's eyes.

"The state has now crushed businesses, kept us from gathering in free assembly to worship as the First Amendment provides, is invading our bodies.

"Which is a violation of the Fourth Amendment, restricting movement, fining us in New York state... the violations go on and on."
