A woman has been dubbed a 'real life Virgin Mary' after she shared a TikTok video in which she talks about conceiving her son without actually having sex.

Samantha Lynn Isabel revealed she was just 19 when she began experiencing cramps in her stomach and realised her period was late.

Remembering that she and her boyfriend had 'fooled around' with each other, she decided to err on the side of caution and took a pregnancy test... and then another six tests, just to be sure - all of which can back positive.

She eventually went to visit a doctor who told her she was five weeks pregnant, despite still being a virgin.

Samantha reckons she most likely got pregnant when she and her boyfriend Alex had touched each other's genitals while she wasn't on birth control.

Speaking to Buzzfeed, Samantha admitted she 'did not feel ready to have a child', but decided to go ahead with the pregnancy anyway, giving birth to Bentley, who is now five.

As you can imagine, the almost-immaculate conception has earned her the nickname Virgin Mary with some friends and family members.

But she and Alex are still going strong, Bentley now has a little brother called Theo, who is one, and the funny TikTok she made has been viewed more than one million times. So, all's well that ends well, eh?

If you're very confused by all this then let me tell you, you are not alone. But, although rare, it is possible to get pregnant without having full intercourse, according to gynaecologist Dr. Jennifer Lincoln.

Dr Lincoln told Buzzfeed: "Sperm has to get into a vagina in order for pregnancy to happen. It doesn't matter what puts it there - whether it's a penis, finger, turkey baster, you name it - but once it's there, it can travel through the cervix, into the uterus, and rendezvous with an egg in the fallopian tube and fertilise it."

She went on to add that getting knocked up without penetrative sex is unusual but can happen, explaining: "Like I've said before, it only takes one sperm that's in the right place at the right time!"

Those are some strong words to live by, Doc. Be safe out there.
