Woman who lives with her parents aged 25 hits back at criticism

The TikToker has explained all the reasons she still lives with her parents despite 'expiring' under their roof

For many of us, we can't wait to move out of our parents' gaff and into the big wide world.

But one TikToker is perfectly happy living with her mummy and daddy and has hit back at critics, explaining all the reasons why she wants to stay.

When Saby Hesri revealed to her 1.9 million followers that she still lives with her parents as a 25-year-old, she definitely didn't anticipate having to explain why.

However, in a now viral TikTok video, the influencer shared her reasoning behind still living with her parents, despite 'expiring' while under their roof.

She explained: “I don’t pay rent, my mum makes amazing food every day, and I’ll never live with my parents again after I get married and move out - these are the only years I have!”

Hesri also poked fun at her living arrangements, saying: “Sometimes I’m like, ‘Okay, I really gotta go. I’m getting old, I’m expiring in this house.’ And other times, I’m like… ‘I’m just a baby!’”

She also explained that she'd probably get 'lonely and bored' if she moved out of her parents' house.

Hesri is single and claims she wouldn't know what to do with herself without the daily entertainment her family provide.

Commenters were quick to reassure the TikToker that she's not the only person in that position.

One person wrote: "I'm 28, my sister's 30 and we still live with our mummy, that's to be expected in my culture though."

Another said: “Ok, I’m 28 and I still live with my parents! It’s literally the best thing.”

While a third wrote: “Girl, no explanation needed. Asian households are usually like that. I still live with my parents too, and I’m 27!!”

Others urged Hesri to move at her own pace and not rush to move out until she is ready, adding that living on your own isn't all it's cracked up to be.

One user wrote: “Don’t! Live life at your own pace and your own rules. No one has a say, they will never understand our bond with our families as Arabs. Enjoy it."

A second said: "Girl stay home and enjoy your life!! I got married and had to move 4 hours away… I miss being at my parents all the time!"

And another commented: "People need to stop glorifying living alone. It’s not all that. It’s a privilege and blessing to have family and being in a home filled with love."

Amen to that!
