Matthew Perry is set to release an 'unflinchingly honest' autobiography which will document his addiction struggles and his time on Friends.
Perry starred as Chandler Bing in the long-running sitcom, but during his time on the show he battled drug and alcohol abuse.
The 52-year-old will release his as yet untitled book next autumn, according to a publisher.
Megan Lynch, publisher of Flatiron Books which is a division of Macmillan, told Deadline: "We need humour, we need catharsis, and we need to agree on something - and Matthew's extraordinary story, told in his inimitable voice, is that thing.

"Matthew's book has unrivalled potential to bring people together, which feels especially galvanising right now, a time of isolation and division."
Talking about the upcoming autobiography, Perry told PEOPLE: "There has been so much written about me by others in the past.
"I thought it was time people heard it directly from the horse's mouth. In this case, the horse's mouth being me."
A post on Publishers Marketplace describes it as 'the book that Friends' fans have been waiting' for, while promising it will be 'unflinchingly honest, dishy and hilarious'.

This will be the first autobiography from any of the Friends' cast.
Perry has been open about his addictions in the past, in 2016 he admitted to the BBC that he 'didn't remember three years' of working on Friends.
Speaking to BBC Radio 2, he said: "Somewhere between season three and six ... I was a little out of it."

Earlier this year, Perry's Friends' co-stars appeared to be taken aback when he confessed to feeling as though he was 'going to die' if he didn't get a laugh from audiences during filming.
Speaking during the Friends reunion show in May, he said: "At least to me, I felt like I was going to die if they didn't laugh."
Perry continued: "It's not healthy for sure but I would sometimes say a line and they wouldn't laugh and I would sweat and just go into convulsions if I didn't get the laugh I was supposed to get. I would freak out."
His former colleagues appeared to be shocked by his admission, with Lisa Kudrow saying to him: "You didn't tell us that.

"I don't remember you ever saying that."
Perry replied: "Oh yeah, I felt like that every single night."
