Vera Wang has admitted that she was 'shocked' after pictures of her in a cropped top went viral when people realised she was 70.
The legendary fashion designer, who is now 71, showed off her toned arms and washboard abs but admitted that all she was trying to do was showcase her hair clips.
Speaking to PEOPLE, she said: "I was totally shocked. To be perfectly honest, the real goal of that picture was [to feature] the hair clips I had in my hair. And hair clips don't exactly show up that well in a picture.
"So we really had to minimize whatever I was wearing and to keep the focus on my hair and those crystal clips. And the fact it became about my Palm Angels workout top was so crazy."
She went on: "I'm sort of the one that always puts the women I dress upfront. I am a fashion designer. And I have dressed some of the most amazing women over the last 30 years on the red carpet when they've actually won Oscars or Golden Globes or Emmys. And so I'm always the one pushing them out the door, and fixing their train at the Met Gala."
She continued: "Even my years at Vogue as a sittings editor, I created a lot of the pictures and was always behind the camera. So I always thought of myself as somebody who, in all fairness, was the creator and not the subject matter. So it was sort of shocking. I can't lie to you."
At the time of her sharing the pictures, someone took to Twitter and wrote: "THIS B**** VERA WANG IS 70?!?" Wang herself even retweeted the tweet, writing: "Fact Check: Truth." Gwarn girl.
Many people asked Wang how the hell she managed to look younger than most of us do at half her age. One person said: "I need my stomach to be like yours! What's your routine?"
Wang replied: "Work, sleep, a vodka cocktail, not much sun..."
If you're thinking that the designer must have a crazy workout routine, you might want to think again because she's previously said she's not very keen on exercise, telling InStyle: "I'm not a huge exercise person, but I love to play golf at Liberty National, in Jersey City, N. J., or at Atlantic Golf Club in the Hamptons if I happen to be out there. I'm terrible but enthusiastic."
