There's a new 'hands-free masturbation' technique according to experts and people have been giving it a go.

It sounds almost impossible but it is possible to get into the mood with your thoughts alone, so how do you go all the way with your hands out of the way?

Well, according to certified sex therapist Rachel Zar, PhD, LMFT, there's a far more discreet way to go about your business without splurging on any sex toys or vibrators for women to get themselves to the top of the hill.

It's not as difficult as you'd think, though it is said that while this method to climax isn't 'easy', it apparently isn't hard to figure out and it could change everything you know about the act of masturbating.

The Chicagoan sex therapist has outlined everything you need to know about the bizarre technique and how people at home can try to carry it out themselves.

What is the method?

It's called 'syntribation' and without the use of your hands, this could get you to climax, according to another certified sex therapist Kimberly Thomas, LPC, CST, from Virginia, USA.

She explains: "This technique is done by crossing your legs and squeezing your thighs together, often combined with some rocking or grinding to stimulate the clitoris and vulva."

Apparently, you're meant to squeeze your thighs and flex your pelvic floor muscles to allow the blood flow to your genitals, which heightens arousal and pleasure.

Zar explained that the clitoris actually 'extends internally along the sides of your vulva', which is why syntribation will feel good.

Though it is mainly used by women, it's said that men can do it too, by 'tucking their penis between their thighs and squeezing the glans or head of the penis for stimulation', Thomas explained.

So, what are the benefits of the technique?

Being discreet

You can hear vibrators and the act of masturbation usually requires a level of privacy that simply won't be possible for some.

According to the experts, syntribation is perfect for those with roommates or those on big family holidays and you're looking to get an ounce of alone time, though they do advice making sure you have a good level of privacy before setting off.

Thomas points out: "Please keep in mind that people around you are not consenting to being around you as you masturbate, so opt for more independent settings."

Easy technique

Both newbies and those with limited mobility can easily carry the method out, while those who are sexually inexperienced may benefit from doing this as they may not know exactly what to do with their hands.

Thomas says that focusing on what feels good or better can help in this way, helping to develop new sexual preferences.

Zar added: "Syntribation is also a safe way to explore your own sexuality, build familiarity and comfort with your sexual self, and gain sexual confidence."

Suggested health benefits

There aren't any studies on syntribation as of yet, but it is said that it can release dopamine, endorphins and oxytocin into the system, all while reducing cortisol levels.

Much like more common masturbation methods, Zar says that it's an easy way to relieve stress and lift your mood, which has been proven in a recent study from the International Journal of Sexual Health, meaning there are health and mental health benefits to the technique.

Versatility

Syntribation can be carried out at the same time as other pleasurable activities, such as touching a partner, or while using a sex toy, or even carrying the natural act of masturbation out, Zar explained.

It's a good tool to have in your sex life, according to the experts.
