Shocking video shows what wrestlers did next after Raja Jackson's disturbing attack

Wrestler Stuart 'Syco Stu' Smith is reported to be 'stable' but in critical care

A video revealing the aftermath of Raja Jackson's attack on wrestler Stuart 'Syco Stu' Smith has emerged online.

On Saturday (23 August) Smith was performing at a wrestling event hosted by WWE-affiliated Knokx Pro in Los Angeles when MMA fighter Raja Jackson entered the ring and appeared to brutally attack him.

During the match, which was being live-streamed on Kick, Jackson entered the ring and hoisted Smith above his head before slamming him into the mat and proceeding to punch him repeatedly in the head, prompting other performers to intervene.

The incident has since been met with widespread shock and condemnation online, prompting Jackson's father - retired UFC fighter Quinton Jackson - to speak out on behalf of his son.

Meanwhile a video showing the direct aftermath of Jackson's attack in the ring has since surfaced online.

The decision was met with backlash online, with several people stunned to see that Smith had to be counted out in order for the match to end.

"Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse," wrote one person, while a second responded: "Pinned the guy after the beat down?? You fkin kidding me??"

"And doing so while holding an American flag has to be the most carny thing ever," added a third person.

What happened between Raja Jackson and Stuart Smith?

It's believed the run-up to Jackson's in-ring attack started earlier in the day when Smith smashed a beer can into the side of the 25-year-old's head. The intention seemed to be for a staged moment between the two fighters.

Jackson was then meant to interrupt Smith's match and perform a scripted take-down of the 44-year-old as his 'payback', which is when the shocking attack occurred.

Law enforcement in Los Angeles have since confirmed to The New York Times that they are aware of the incident and are investigating further.

Smith's brother, Andrew Smith, has since confirmed his brother is currently 'stable but in critical care'.

KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy have also commented on the incident, apologising to fans over the incident.

They said in a statement: "First and foremost our thoughts and prayers are with our brother Mr. Stuart Smith (Syko Stu) as he remains a priority and we are monitoring his well being.

"What was supposed to be a planned and agreed upon wrestling spot, turned into a selfish, irresponsible act of violence against Mr. Smith. This egregious act is reprehensible and never should have occurred.

"In the 17 years of operation of KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy, there has never been anything as heinous take place such as this and we apologise to our patrons and fans."

LADbible Group has previously contacted the LAPD and Raja Jackson for comment.
