The pensioner who married her Egyptian toyboy lover has assured people he isn't trying to con her, saying she's 'not the sort of woman who can be scammed'.
Iris Jones, 82, married Mohamed Ahmed, 36, in Cairo in November 2020, having met online in a Facebook group exploring atheism.
They have since won over the nation with various TV interviews detailing their unique relationship, with Iris making regular appearances on the This Morning sofa.
As their first anniversary approaches, Iris, from Weston-super-Mare in north Somerset, said if her husband isn't granted a visa it would be the 'end of the world'.

Speaking to The Sun, she said they should have a decision from the Home Office at some point in November.
Grandmother Iris, who has two sons in their 50s, said: "All the Home Office cares about is evidence of a relationship and we have plenty of that.
"They want proof he has somewhere to stay too and that's fine, I own my own bungalow.
"They are also interested in him having a good command of English. He's passed the required English test."
She said the Home Office is also concerned about finances, explaining that you are required to have £64,000 for someone to come to the U.K on a spousal visa.

But despite the obstacles, Iris remains adamant that their love is real, saying: "I know people think I'm a daft old biddy and he is taking advantage of me.
"I am not the sort of woman who can be scammed. And he's never asked for any money - we split all expenses 50/50."
Back in January last year, Iris appeared on This Morning to speak about her relationship with Mohamed, shocking viewers with her surprisingly frank admission about their sex life.

"The first night - pretty rough, it was rough," she told hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
"Nobody has been with me for 35 years, I thought I was a virgin again.
"Can I say what we used? A whole tube of KY Jelly."
As Holly and Phil started to giggle, she continued: "And the thing is, I couldn't walk the next day, I felt as if I had been riding a horse.

"Saddle sore wasn't in it. Anyway, we got over that - the sex is not the important thing."
But in the new interview with The Sun, Iris admitted she just loves teasing people about her sex life.
She said: "So we can only do it lying down, with him on top of me. Otherwise, it's very painful and I'll bruise.
"I teased Phil and Holly by saying we did it doggy style and the position we manage is a bit like that but not really - it's flatter."
