OnlyFans Influencer Uses Money To Help Pay Parents' Rent

An influencer who's joined OnlyFans is using the money she's raking in to help pay her parents' rent.

Alexis Griswold - who has 473,000 followers on TikTok and 207,000 followers on Instagram - decided to join OnlyFans in September, after the pandemic made it more difficult to pick up brand deals.

Now, the 22-year-old, who lives in Los Angeles, has more than 600 subscribers paying $16.99 (£12.17) per month.

Even after OnlyFans takes its cut, that leaves Alexis with plenty to help her folks out with their rent.

"I do help my parents out and send them money," she tells LADbible.

"I'm really thankful for that. My family, luckily, is really supportive.

"And they just trust my judgement and how I like to present myself, and they're really supportive of it. So I'm grateful for that."

Alexis has faced some negativity since joining OnlyFans, where she shares Q&A videos and 'more personal stuff' than on her other social media channels; but she believes the site is being transformed by influencers like herself.

She says: "Some friends have made comments on it, but I try to just like not let that get to me and explain to them the bigger picture about it.

"It [OnlyFans] does have a bad reputation, but I feel like it's almost changing with how everyone is starting to use it for different things, other than what it was perceived to be as. And so I feel like people's perspectives are kind of changing on it and it's not as bad as when it first came out."

She continues: "It kind of started off as more of a sexual thing, rather than a fan base platform like it was supposed to be; it kind of got turned into something else.

"But I feel like the influencer community has kind of taken over it now and it's starting to become something different."

Much like OnlyFans, Alexis feels people have a false impression of influencing - which she claims is no walk in the park.

She says: "It's a lot more work than what people think it is like, you have to put a lot of work into it.

"And it's not like a nine to five job where you get up and someone tells you, 'You have to be here at this time'. You have to put in the work yourself, and it's all on you.

"So it's definitely a lot more work than people perceive it to be."

If you think influencing could be your dream job, then Alexis reckons you too can make it - if you're willing to put in the graft.

She says: "I think if anyone has the right mindset, they could do it. It just all depends on the person.

"I wouldn't say not everyone could do it. It's just if you have the right mindset and drive to really put a lot of work and effort into it.

"It's definitely not something that happens overnight from posting a picture."
