The boss of Marvel Studios has warned fans may have to forgo the customary fizzy drink during the long-awaited superhero flick, Avengers: Endgame.

CEO Kevin Feige says the fourth instalment of the comic book franchise is so action-packed, you can't even afford a couple of minutes for a slash.

And at a lengthy three hours and two minutes, it's going to be a struggle for even the most cast-iron of bladders to hold out.

Speaking ahead of the film's release later this month, Feige said: "What I've always said is a movie is as long as it should be. And we are not fans of overindulging movies.

"We are not fans of laborious lengths for no reason. We are fans of movies that you wish didn't end. Movies that you want to see again as soon as it's over.

"And movies that you just don't ever find a good time to run out to the bathroom. That's when a movie's working. If a movie doesn't feel like that to us, we continue to trim, we continue to shape, we continue to bring that time down. That happened to a certain extent on this movie.

"But we got to a point where it feels very exciting and goes by very quickly and in the end is the perfect length. And everybody that saw the movie felt the same way."

If the latest clip of the movie is anything to go by, however, he's not wrong.

Having premiered on Good Morning America on Monday, it features a conversation about the best way to bring back the fallen Avengers who were taken in 'the snap' that destroyed half of all living creatures in the universe, in the last film.

To say it's emotional is something of an understatement.

And fans have been falling over themselves to be among the very first to see the film that will bring the curtain down on this chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe - the 'Infinity saga' - which began with Iron Man, way back in 2008.

The Marvel boss has said there is enough action packed into Endgame, audiences won't have time to look away.

Some are so desperate, they have been forking out thousands - $15,000, to be exact - to get their hands on just one of the elusive tickets.

And no, that kind of money doesn't mean you actually get to meet Iron Man and the rest of the gang. Oh no.

What it does get you, however, is a seat at the AMC theatre in West Orange, New Jersey. Money well spent, I think you'll all agree.

Anyway, I'm sure they'll have a great time.

Avengers: Endgame will hit cinemas from 25 April.
