Aquaman star Jason Momoa has shared heartwarming footage of his video call with a seven-year-old fan who has cancer, having reached out after the youngster went viral for his love of the half-human, half-Atlantean character.
Young Danny Sheehan, from Boston, Massachusetts, was diagnosed with pineoblastoma and leptomeningeal disease - a rare, aggressive form of brain cancer and cancer in the cerebral spinal fluid - in 2017.
His parents decided to make every day of Danny's life count, sharing his story over on Facebook as a way to help them as a family, and others dealing with cancer.
Last week, a local photographer called Corey Taylor gifted Danny and his family a holiday photoshoot, also surprising the youngster with presents - including a toy Aquaman.
Video footage of the day shows Danny ripping open the toy, before exclaiming: "Oh my gosh! My favourite one! Aquamaaaaan! I love Aquaman!"
The clip soon went viral, and ended up reaching Aquaman actor Jason Momoa, who in turn got in touch with the boy to see if he wanted a chat.
"So I just wanted to say thank you to the community, friends and family on Instagram for reaching out and showing me this beautiful boy Danny who is going through chemo and has cancer," Momoa wrote on Instagram.
"I saw his video online that made me want to get in touch and FaceTime him and spend some time talking to him."
In the video, Danny greets his new celeb pal by saying to the camera: "Hi, Aquaman!"
Momoa replies with a smile: "Hi, beautiful boy!"
When Danny admits he feels 'excited', Momoa says: "I'm excited! I've been hearing about you all over, from all of my friends. And I wanted to call you and say hi and see how you're doing."
During their exchange, Danny and his new celeb mate discuss dolphins before the Aquaman fan shows his idol his new toy.
Momoa then offers to take Danny out to swim with dolphins and sharks.
"I've been riding on dolphins and it's super fun," Momoa says.
"We should try it sometime. Would you ever swim with sharks with me?"
The star also said he would give Danny one of his tridents, and invited him along to the filming of Aquaman 2 in London next year.
