Twitch Streamer Makes $16,000 Filming Himself Asleep And Letting Viewers Disturb Him

Given the chance to earn $16,000 (£11,500) for a night of broken sleep, most of would jump at it.

That's the reality for one Twitch streamer, who notched the staggering sum by filming himself asleep and letting viewers donate money - which allowed them to send sounds and text-to-speech messages.

The 26-year-old - who goes by the name 'Asian Andy' - didn't get much sleep during his livestream but that's to be expected when you're putting this sort of power in the hands of the people.

Many viewers donated before getting Alexa to play loud music, imitate a dog barking or make his alarm go off.

Another thing people seemed to enjoy was telling him someone was at the window next to him as he cuddled up to his dog.

In the footage, later posted to YouTube, he said in response to someone picking up his location: "I'm just trying to sleep. You're gonna scare the viewers. Because I'm just going to be asleep anyways. I won't know what's going on. The door's locked."

Andy was shocked (and probably delighted) by the generosity of viewers. We're sure it sweetens every irritating noise that was played.

After his night of streaming, Andy said: "You guys aren't gonna believe this. Thank you, holy f*** bro. $16,000, holy s***."

He then added: "Yo, holy s***. Thank you so much. I used to drive [an] Uber for $16 an hour."

Oh, did we mention that Andy lives at his parents' home? So they were in the next room. Still, I'm sure they're not complaining about his earnings.

Many people (we're going to assume that they're not the ones blasting heavy metal via Andy's speakers) were concerned about the dog, which surely didn't know what it was getting into when it crawled in bed for the evening.

One wrote: "He is just asking to be woke up all the time. The poor dog I feel sorry for trying to sleep," another added: "I just feel bad for the dog. The guy knew what he was getting himself into."

As for the general theme of the video, others loved it and wanted to get in on the action. Someone even commented: "My brain does this to me every night for free."

Another wrote: "Where can I sign up I have 3 kids I can do this im use to the noise hahaha they might even capture my husband having night terrors." Eek.
