YouTuber Bretman Rock Upset After Fans Show Up At Dad's Funeral

A YouTuber has begged his fans to allow him to grieve after selfie-hunters turned up at the funeral of his recently deceased father.

Twenty-one-year-old online influencer Bretman Rock flew to the Philippines for the funeral of his dad, who had slipped into a coma and sadly passed away, but was shocked to discover that his fame had followed him when loads of people showed up unannounced at the funeral.

The vlogger tweeted: "Can people just let me be sad for once.... I'm here in the Philippines for my dad who just passed, don't come to my house and ask me for pictures.

"So many people showed up to my dad's funeral uninvited and started taking pics of my dad and my family. Like why? It's common sense."

He continued: "I just don't understand why people think it's okay to ask me for pictures when my eyes are literally swollen from crying. How you gonna say, 'Condolences, can we take a picture?'"

Wow, that is pretty bleak.

Most of his fans were outraged by the behaviour of the relative few who showed up.

One person wrote: "Can y'all let Bret have a private life pls."

Another said: "This is disrespectful beyond belief."

A third said: "I'm so sorry love. I'm keeping you and your family in my prayers."

To be fair, whatever you think of YouTubers, the guy has a right to grieve for his father in private. Also, how weird do you have to be to show up at a funeral uninvited and ask the bereaved family for pictures?

Jeez.

So, it turns out that being a YouTuber isn't the easiest job in the world, like you might think.

First off, there's more work involved than you'd expect, but also between ending up in hospital from eating chili peppers, getting banned from your main source of income for cheating, or even encasing your head in cement as part of a stupid prank, there are pitfalls there.

Strangely enough, this isn't the first funeral-related YouTuber story. In fact, recently two other stars were forced to encourage folks not to show up at their father's funeral.

With the hashtags #SeanDolanMeetUpParty and #seandolanfuneralparty trending, the pair - who have more than four million subscribers, tweeted: "We want this ceremony to be an opportunity for the people who had a close connection with my dad to say goodbye and pay their respects.

"We appreciate all of our fans so so much.
