iPhone users discover 'real reason' why their alarms haven't being going off

People have finally realised why their Apple phone alarms aren’t going off and it’s a doozy.

Another day, another morning iPhones aren’t ringing out alarms.

It’s been a major issue, with one TikTok user slamming: “This has probably been the third or fourth day in a row that my alarm clock has not gone off.”

Basically, it seems as if some people are noticing that their phone keeps turning off overnight, meaning that their alarm doesn’t go off.

Users have been taking to Reddit in an attempt to find out what the problem is, but so far there have been no real answers.

The iPhone users have been waking up and finding that their phone wants them to use their PIN code to unlock the phone instead of face recognition, which is an indicator that the phone has been turned off and turned on again.

This glitch meant that their phone may have been switched off for a length of time, which made more than a few people late to work when their alarm didn’t go off.

The problem has predominantly affected the new iPhone 15 models, but other Apple customers have also complained of the same thing.

Because of the hoopla, Apple is trying to work out a way to stop it from happening.

Reddit users think they have discovered the reason why our alarms aren't ringing out like they should, after one person said if you turn off your ‘Attention Aware Features' in your iPhone's settings it’ll fix it.

You can find this in both the 'Face ID & Attention' category or by going into 'Accessibility' and clicking on 'Voice Control'.

So, what’s the real reason it’s all kicking off?

As it turns out, TikTokers think it’s the exact same thing as Redditors.

For once, the internet has united against an irritating force: broken alarms.

Posting to TikTok, basicallybetsy_ shared: “If you have an iPhone and you’ve recently been sleeping through your alarms, watch this video.”

She explained how she had been initially believing that her change in medication and recent stress has been the reason for why she continuously missed her alarms in the morning.

Considering she had always been a ‘light sleeper’ and she was on ‘heavy sleep medication’ which also didn’t stop her from waking up to her alarm, she eventually knew something was up.

She then explained the same thing that the Redditors did, and to turn off your Attention Aware Features as ‘apparently with the new update, Apple decided it was cute and country to silence some notifications’ and ‘turn down the volume’ on some things.

One of those things was your alarm system.

People in the comments were finally relieved to have an answer and explained how they were being driven mad by the lack of alarm.

One person wrote: “Omg THANK YOU this has been driving me INSANE, wish I knew about this before buying Nintendo’s ridiculously expendable alarm clock.”

Another shared that it was affecting more than their alarm, writing: “I haven’t been receiving texts for over a week! This explains so much.”

Thankfully, now you’ll be able to fix it and wake up on time.
