Game of Thrones is back for one final series in 2019, and we absolutely cannot wait. I mean, we're going to have to - but HBO boss Casey Bloys has said that there's a very good reason for the wait, telling Entertainment Weekly that the delay was due to the increased length of episodes, the quality of the special effects and CGI, as well as the fact that showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss are nothing short of perfectionists.
However, while we're patiently waiting for the final season to be in our lives, it seems Emilia Clarke is already saying goodbye.
She took to Instagram for a final farewell, in a poignant post that read: "Hopped on a boat to an island to say goodbye to the land that has been my home away from home for almost a decade.
"It's been a trip @gameofthrones thank you for the life I never dreamed I'd be able to live and the family I'll never stop missing #lastseasonitis."
At the time of writing it has over 2.1 million likes, with many fans paying tribute to an amazing character who will be greatly missed.
One person commented: "Thanks to you too, for giving us a wonderful character."
Another wrote: "You have been an inspiration and watching you as Danny gave me strength to go on and fight my own battles. I'll miss my Queen."
Another fan said: "Goodbye Daenerys of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, The Unburnt, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Queen of Meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Protector of the Realm, Lady Regnant of the Seven Kingdoms, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons."
"You will always be our queen," someone else commented.
I'm not crying, YOU'RE crying.
Many fans would love to see Daenerys come out victorious in the show's final season, with online sports gambling site Bovada having already opened betting for who will 'win' the popular series - and the results are pretty interesting.
Here are the odds (via OddsShark):
Favourites are Jon Snow and Daenerys, who are tied at the top, while Bran Stark, surprisingly, is just a tad behind in third.
There's been no official confirmation of when we can expect to see the show on our screens for the final time, but you can be sure we will bring that information to you the second it drops. Let's just hope the final series is as good - if not better - than the previous seven. Roll on 2019.
