Sometimes, one person's treasure is another person's trash - a sentiment that can often apply to cinema, with many big, critically-acclaimed masterpieces deemed overrated tripe to some viewers (Citizen Kane, I'm looking at you).
The latest film that appears to be dividing opinion is The Irishman, Martin Scorsese's latest output, which hit selected cinemas recently and is now available on Netflix.
It's also three-and-a-half hours long.
Currently, on Rotten Tomatoes it has itself a very respectable 96 percent rating from critics, while the audience score sits a little lower at 86 percent.

But it seems some viewers haven't been able to buy into the hype, with some people hopping onto social media to say that they've found it 'super boring'.
One person tweeted: "I tried to watch The Irishman on Netflix. After 90 minutes I shut it off and put on the Knicks game. It was just a boring and long version of Goodfellas with actors 20 years past their prime!"
They added: "How come people are saying The Irishman is a masterpiece? Is it because it's long and boring? Is it because its derivative and unoriginal? Is it because it has a long list of Hollywood names and no one wants to tell them it sucks?"

Another referred to the film as 'bloated and boring', while someone else said: "The Irishman was an overwrought, boring, unsatisfying mess. I think guys like it solely because they, and we, yearn for a great gangster flick.
"It had the tone, the story, hell even the actors and director... but that's all it had. No heart. And watching those icons pretend."
Of course, if you don't think you can handle the long run-time for the film, there is an alternative. (WARNING: SPOILERS LIE AHEAD, SO STOP READING IF YOU DON'T WANT TO FIND OUT SOME BASIC PLOT DETAILS.)
One crafty film fan has managed to devise a way for others to watch The Irishman as a mini-series, cutting the plot up into four, easily-digestible chunks.
Basically, the idea is that it's split up into 'intelligent sections', which cut off at well-timed intervals to leave enough of a cliffhanger, but also ties up enough loose ends for it to be a satisfying episode.

Of course, the Twitter police have been out in force suggesting that to split something up in to more manageable chunks is sacrilege, but if it means you can enjoy something that you usually wouldn't have time to do in one go - you do you.
