Burger Restaurant Renames Menu So You Can Expense Items

A burger restaurant in Canada has renamed items on its menu so that customers can expense them, a move that social media users have said is 'genius'.

Good Fortune Burger in Toronto, Ontario, has sneakily changed the name of some of its burgers and sides on Uber Eats and DoorDash, encouraging people to 'Order. Eat. Expense. Repeat.'

Its signature Fortune Burger has become a 'Basic Steel Stapler', while the Diamond Chicken Burger is now a 'Mini Dry Erase Whiteboard'.

If you fancy the Double Your Fortune burger, that's now camouflaged as another office staple, with a description reading: "The Double Your Fortune is now a Laptop Stand... Enjoy it. Then expense it. Thanks boss."

Another listing for a veggie burger adds: "Been working through lunch or dinner? Grab this Emerald Veggie Burger, disguised as earphones, then expense it to the big man."

It's not just the restaurant's burgers, either, as you can also pick up some fries disguised as a 'Braided HDMI Cord', a ginger beer which is now 'Yellow Lined Sticky Notes' or a San Pellegrino that's been reborn as 'Ball Point Black Ink Gel Pens'.

Another said: "This is genius. Lateral thinking at its best."

Someone else added: "This is bona fide genius."

One person wasn't quite so convinced by the joke, writing: "Fun idea, in theory. I'm just not sure if it works. I don't have an expense account, but I l kind of suspect that if I did, and it showed I was buying a laptop stand every week, my employers would probably have questions."

Thankfully, if you feel like being a bit more honest, there's also the option to order the items under their usual names.
