KFC Tracks Down Couple Who Got Engaged In Their Restaurant

When you're thinking about proposing to your significant other, it can be tough to decide exactly where to do it - it has to be perfect, right?

You could whisk them away on a romantic holiday, maybe take them up the Eiffel Tower, or how about returning to the place where you went on your first date?

All good options I think you'll agree, but none quite say 'I love you' like doing it in your local KFC. And that's where one man decided to pop the question to his missus, who said yes.

The touching moment was caught on camera and shared on KFC South Africa's official Twitter page, with staff asking other customers to help them track down the loving couple.

It said: "Please help us find this beautiful couple . DM us any leads, there might be a Finger Lickin' Good surprise in it for you too. We love love."

And it didn't take long for the internet to work its magic, with the fast-food giant promising to give them a celebration to remember with a #StreetwiseWedding.

The chain thanked customers for their help, tweeting: "South Africa, you guys are amazing! We've found the beautiful couple, and looks like we're having a #StreetwiseWedding y'all. We're meeting Bhut' Hector and his lovely bride Nonhlanhla we'll keep you posted. #KFCProposal."

Later adding: "Our amazing couple, bhut' Hector and sis Nonhlanhla, are truly grateful and overjoyed by your love SA. They just ask for a moment to take in all the love you are showering them with, please bear with us. More to follow fam. Thank you."

And it really touched the hearts of KFC thousands of followers who were over the moon for Hector and Nonhlanhla. Companies have since been falling over themselves offering to pay for everything, from the dress and flowers, to the food and even the honeymoon.

A South African airline wrote: "Hey mzansi's favourite couple! Your honeymoon is on us! #kululaholidays are giving you a holiday in Cape Town, incl flights and 5 nights accommodation"

A nail artist then offered to give the bride a makeover, writing: "Where are they from? Glam nails by lebo in polokwane would like to pimp the bride with manicure and Pedicure for free tell the bride to whatsapp me."

While another company pledged to provide the jewellery on the day. They said: "We'd love to send you a necklace, bracelet and pair of Forever New earrings to wear on your big day - @kfcsa let's make this happen! #KFCProposal."

Fast-food chain McDonald's even got in on the act, offering to pay for the couple to go on a trip away.

The burger giant wrote: "We just could not resist all this Lovin'. We would love to take Mzansi's fave couple on an all-expenses paid trip to Cape Town for an unforgettable VIP experience at Toni Braxton's #AsLongAsILive Tour. Thank you for celebrating love. Kwakuhle kwethu!"
