Crocs, the gift that keeps on giving. Just when you think the love-'em-hate-'em brand of foam clogs might finally go under, their Machiavellian team of marketing gurus conjure another genius plot to keep people interested.

I thought we had seen the worst of it earlier this year when they announced the arrival of the high heeled Croc, for which prices were fetching somewhere in the region of £40.

And the less said about the Godforsaken Crocs slipper, the better.

But alas, they are back and they have found yet another way to keep pedaling their wares.

This time they've roped in rapping sensation and self-proclaimed Crocs fanatic, Post Malone.

Yes, the person once described as 'the Donald Trump of hip-hop' has joined forces with the footwear giant to release his own range of the slip-on shoe.

Not content with their core market of middle-aged mums and chefs, they've made a move for impressionable teens and 20-somethings.

And - remarkably - the shoes have sold out in less than three hours.

I give you the 'Post Malone x Crocs Dimitry Clog' - catchy, I think you'll agree. Described by the manufacturer as a 'devilishly awesome take on the iconic Classic Clog', you know it's going to be a thing of beauty.

And guess what? It even includes six 'custom-designed Jibbitz' - whatever in holy hell they are - including re-creations of his infamous 'Stay Away' tattoo and his Posty Co logo.

Now if that's not worth the $59.99, I don't know what is.

And Posty - as he affectionately refers to himself - is over the moon with how they have turned out, saying he never leaves home without a pair of trusty Crocs.

He said: "If you like something, go get it. I wear Crocs everywhere from the bar to the stage and I felt it was the perfect collaboration to get together with Crocs and give the fans what they've been asking for."

Crocs Chief Marketing Officer Terence Reilly said they were convinced that Posty was the man to lead their new range after he read a Tweet from the 'Psycho' singer - that's the name of one of his songs, not a value judgement on him as a person - praising the shoe.

He said: "Amidst his record-setting year, when Post tweeted 'U can tell a lot about a man by the Jibbitz in his Crocs', that really got our attention.

"Post Malone is a beloved creator and represents what it means to be comfortable in your own shoes, so collaborating on product design is special. We're thrilled with how the Post Malone x Crocs Dimitri Clog turned out and excited about what's to come. Stay tuned."

I am so staying tuned.
